5083e and a 520 john deere
I was wondering if anyone has made or thought of making a cover for the hydraulic lines and other exposed items on the right hand side of the tractor. I am planning on maybe making one out of 1/8 in steel to keep brush and mud and any other things that might tear the lines up. also has anyone rerouted the lines on there fel. mine are under the round loader mount now i am thing bout unhooking the and running them over top of the round mound piece.

There was a post from pclausen - IIRC - regarding the low hanging hyd lines under the right side of the tractor. He's got a 5085M with the 260 loader. He loosened the hyd fitting's and turned the fitting's up towards the loader - loader frame and re-tightened the nylon straps. That certainly helped to tuck the lines up closer to the tractor frame and reduce the low hanging cluster of lines!

I've been meaning to re-adjust my hyd lines but haven't gotten around to it yet. But, I don't crawl thru brush or corn stubble or around hills, mounds or trees stumps, either. Just hay fields and around the building's and roads.

What model of loader do you have?

Here's a picture (not the best) of the hyd lines on the right side of my 5075M. Is this what you're talking about?

Did mine Friday. Turned the fitting toward the front and slid them higher though the rubber pinch bracket. Bought 6-8 inches...

On my 5303 with 522 FEL, I disconnected the quick connects and rerouted the hydraulic lines over the tube mount I think you are talking about. I too was concerned over risk of catching the low hanging lines on something.
