I pretty much decided on a 5103. Looked at the Massey 2605 which compares in power but lacks in the finish / comfort department (but the 0% for 60 months was pretty attractive).

2 quotes so far for an '08 w/ FEL - $17,999 & $17,400.

Both quotes came from the same "dealer" that has 2 locations within 20 miles of my house. Haven't really shopped it anywhere else. I'm likely going to place the order in the next week or so with scheduled delivery for after April 1st. That will allow me to get any better financing option that might present itself from Deere. The Fed Reserve commision meets on the 18th and will most likely drops rates again from my research.

Any dealers out there actually expecting Deere to go the other way on financing (ie drop the 0% for 36 months after March)?

I got an out the door quote the other day for 5103 w/fel for $18198. that's a 2 wheel drive.

I'm with JIm your doing pretty good right now. Real dang good if thats quote is out the door. We booked beans today right under $12 bu. fuel was $3.75 on my way home tonight. I heard that yesterday 600lb steers where branging .90. I dont see our market getting any better. You might have waited as long as you need to waited. I'm telling something has to give. You can bet it aint the working man's back its going to be his pocket. If you can stand the payments now. It might be wise to go ahead and do this.

Don't know where you are looking but I am in GA and the Greensouth dealerships here in GA are advertising a new 5103 for $12,999. I have checked into a loader for my 5103 (sold out at time of my purchase) and I think the price is $4,500. So, you are right in the ballpark for your pricing. Good Luck

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to try $18,000 w/ a Frontier 1072 rotary cutter and see if the dealer will take it. Worst they can say is no I think they are hurting a little because the sales manager from 1 location has called me 3 times.

I live just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma. We have a farm tax exemption (no sales tax on the tractor) so I believe that price would be out the door. Unless they tack "prep" fees on at the dealer

I paid 18,600 for 5203 w 512 loader in August of 2005. Looks to me as if your quotes are in line.

i'm pricing green bellied '07 5103s in my neighborhood for $13997 with a block heater and fluid in the rear tires. without the fluid it's $13298
