John Deere 5105
Hello
Hoping someone has had a similar experience, and will share the experience.

I have a JD 5105 tractor. The fuel line was bad, so I replaced both the fuel line and the return line. With a full gas tank, I have bled the lines, per the manual, but cannot seem to get fuel to the injector lines.
I bled at the filter, and at the return line on top of the injector pump, but still no fuel in the injector lines.

Help please. Thank you in advance.

I have one of those cheap handheld vacuum pumps. On our 5420 , I take out the bleed screw on the fuel injector pump and stick the tube into the hole. Then I pump the vacuum until fuel comes out and I put the bleed screw back in. Then I crank the engine giving it full throttle.

Also, You might have a bad fuel line. I tied some new hose to the old one to fish it through the frame when I pulled the old hose out.

Close the fuel shut off, were the fuel line connects to the fuel filter, pull the line off and fuel should come out, since the fuel tank/fuel is higher. This will also clean out the line. Leaving the fuel shut off closed, take the fuel filter off empty what is in it and fill it with fresh fuel. From here follow the manual on bleeding. Have the throttle at least セ up, when starting.

If this does not get it started watch the included video.

If you did not wash out the tank and if there was some junk at the bottom of the tank, putting in the fuel may have caused the junk to get into the line.

I just went thru this last week on a customers JD equipment.. it had 300 hrs on it..
The screen in the tank outlet is clogged.. The hand primer was SUCKING enough fuel to fill the filters but that was it..
Take the line off at the tank & more than likely you'll just see a dribble of fuel coming out.. just blow back thru OR better yet, clean the tank the next time it gets low.. then go back thru your priming again.
Good luck.

I have a John Deere L120 rider mower the fuel shaft that is attached inside of the tank shook loose and was lying in bottom of tank drained the tank and removed. How can I get this re-attached it is a sealed tank. Is there a special tool to hold this shaft/plastic so it can be screwed back in so my gas tank so it can deliver gas to the engine or do I have to replace the whole tank which is in great shape.

Now that you posted this in two (if not three) threads, I'll link to the thread where I replied.. just so you don't miss it.

Best not post twice, as causes confusion in answers. Once is good.
And making a new post specific to your problem is often a good idea, unless you have a reply to something already being discussed in a thread. Hope that makes sense.
And hope you solve your gas tank problem.
