Hello everyone
I was wondering if a 5203 with 512 loader would handle an older 8ft bush hog mounted on the 3 pt hitch. It is a heavy duty model with a cylinder setup on the rear wheels for total control of height front to back. The last tractors to run it were Farmall 806 and JD 4520(AG TRACTORS). I believe the 3 pt is setup for cat II\III. The 5203 will accept cat II implements so I know it will fit but will the tractor handle to weight??

Thanks for the help guys.

John

I'd trade it for a 6 footer.

I don't know if this will help your decision, but a JD recommends a min. of 40 PTO HP to operate their MX8 bush hog, weight is 1670 lbs.

That is the exact type of brush cutter that I am looking for my 5420. Your tractor will handle it just fine, but might slow you down in the thick stuff. Make sure you either add enough front weights to counterbalance the brush cutter or keep your bucket loader mounted. By the looks you have the brush guard, so adding front weights may not be possible.
