Today I learned the hard way that there is a flat gasket at the top of the fuel filter on a 5205. That was a first for me! I changed the filter, but I could not get the engine to start. I bled the filter, the fuel return line and I even tried to bleed the injectors. No luck. I finally called the local dealer and a mechanic came out. He scratched his head for a while before finding the gasket and the leak. After replacing the gasket and filter locking ring, I only had to bleed the filter, prime the system and it started right off. Moral of the story, check to see if you have a gasket and have a spare on hand!
