I was mowing tonight and took a break after an hour or so, had a beverage, got back on the tractor and started it up.
When I engaged the PTO it didn't sound right and I noticed the blades were turning at maybe 1/4 speed. Engaging and disengaging didn't create that jolt I'm used to from the load of the blades either.
The PTO shaft into the gearbox appeared to be turning at the correct speed but the pulley on the output of the gearbox was too slow, I think.
Anything in the gearbox that can slip or maybe I lost a key out of the pulley.
The belt tension seemed OK.
I couldn't really investigate, I needed to finish mowing so I fired up the old 1872 and finished. The tractor is under warranty so beyond something real simple, it's going to the shop.
Thanks,
Curt
