5252 Hydraulics problem

My 5252 is starting to have a strange hydraulic problem. Over that past year I have noticed that when I first start the tractor, the power steering was stiff and making a noise whenever I turned the wheel. Similar to the noise a power steering pump makes in a car when its turned all the way to the stop. After the tractor warmed up the steering got better and the noise stopped. Now when I put the FELoader on it shimmies and shakes when I try to lift it or tilt the bucket. Is this all related to a hydraulic pump? Is the hydraulic pump separate from the Hydrostatic pump? All filters and hydro oil changed on schedule and oil is full.

I used whatever filter numbers were in the manual and I used the cc fluid. Filters and fluids have been changed 3 times. All purchased straight from the CC dealer. Why do you ask about the filter number?

So you are up around 600 hours? I'm assuming they sold you the $32 gallon Drive System Plus fluid? That's a $150 fluid change in that tractor.

I'm at about 450 hours. I used the CC Fluid and filters on each change.

Problem solved by a hydrostatic filter replacement as suggested. Filter was only 6 months old with very few hours. Must have been a bad filter. Don't really care as long as I don't have to pay $$$ for a repair . Thanks for the help.

Glad to hear your back in business! Did tou go to an alternate hydro fluid, I'm at 190 hours and about to do my first change.

Was the filter dented or damaged in any way?

I'm having trouble with my 5252, think I'll start another post.

No fluid change, just the filter. I did all filters and fluids last fall so the fluid is fine. I changed the filter as a last resort before taking it to the dealer. No dents or obvious problems with the old filter. All filters and fluids are standard cub cadet.
