5303 remotes

I just bought a root grapple for my 5303 and looking at the hyd. setup in the rear its not the same as the loader set up. I need to have hyd. lines made up but I thought that the loader fittings would be the same as the ones in the rear. Is this common to have two different types on the same machine. If someone would know what I need to use that would be great . By the way both rear fitting are female.

Aren't your loader fittings all female on the tractor side?

Does your root grapple not have male fittings?

Yes the loader fittings are female the grapple is one of each male and female.

The grapple has male and female probably because a skid steer would have a male and female. On the back remotes do you have a different style coupler than the ios that are typical for utility tractor hook ups?

I guess I don't know what other utility tractors have for hook ups. I do know that the hook up for the loader is different than the rear remotes. The loader hook ups work like a air coupler and the rears don't have anything that moves, I don't know how the coupler stay in the fitting unless it fit inside and over the outside also.

Oh, they are probably the same style. Make sure your couplers on the grapple are the same as your loader(as in both male tips) then back up closer to your grapple and shove the male coupler tip into the tractor and it should lock then just pull it out. It's the same couple I bet just you don't have to move the outer sleeve.

Well I got the problem solved. Talked to a local farmer at the parts store and he said it would be a pioneer fitting. he said if it would not go to put some heat on it because it was frozen. He was right. Now I'll get my hoses bought. The root grapple that I bought is a 66" Extreme root grapple from Unlimited Fabricating in Denton NC. Very heavy duty and nice people to deal with. Hope to have it working for the weekend.
