How,s everyone doing?
I have a 08 2520 with a 46 bh and a 200 loader. am thinking about buying 54 blower for the front and was wondering if the bh or bh frame will have to come off to install the blower?
thanks

:welcome:

Any reason you can think of that the blower would interfere with the BH? Anything of the BH that extends forward where the blower would mount, and is the mid PTO free? No oil pump attached there?

You just need to remove your 200CX loader. The front quick hitch and snowblower chute rotation use the loader hydraulics & joystick.

Hi Guys,

You will need to remove the 46 from the tractor to put on a blower. The only reason for this is because of the PTO shaft which runs from under the operator seat to the front of the tractor.

It would have been easy enough for Deere to curve the backhoe subframe out of the way, big they opted instead to run the subframe right through the space occupied by the PTO shaft.

I heard that the BH frame can be modified to allow room for the drive shaft. Has anyone heard of this. I would like to leave the BH on the tractor for weight instead of buying a ballast box, but I don't know if modifing the frame is worth it. To those of you that have a FM blower: how often do you wish you had the bucket on and how well do they work?

I've had my blower for the last 3 winters and never had the need to use my fel. I find the fel is some-out slow for snow removal unless you have a blade attache to it.

If you knew that the subframe has to be modified, then why did you ask your original question?

I learned of a possible modification after the fact, from a sourse other than this fourm. Thought I would ask you guys for your opinion.

Thanks for the info and the pics

I'd think you could just look at the frame and visually see that the PTO shaft from the mid PTO stub wouldn't fit. Have you done that and it wasn't conclusive?
Have you determined what modification you can make so the shaft will go on?
