The mounting bolts connecting the front of my 540 loader frame to my '95 5200 keep working their way out. I have been replacing them here and there, tried Loctite, and even tack welded the bolt heads to the loader frame trying to keep them in. They keep flexing enough that no matter what I do (including the tack welds), they come loose. Anyone else have this problem or hear anything about it??

Thanks,
Phillip

I have attached the manual URL for the 540 loader. Any chance the -hidden bolt- look in section 70 of the manual - Mounting Frame Hardware 5200, 5210, 5300, 5310, 5400 Tractors is missing or loose.

I purchased my tractor used and I do not think the 540 loader was new at time of purchase of the tractor as I have found a few things wrong with that said any chance the bolts are not M16 X 70?

Thanks for the link.

It is possible that the "hidden bolt" is missing, but I can't tell without taking the loader off the mounting frames (which I have been planning to do so I could check). I believe they were there before because even if the front bolts dropped out, I didn't get more than an inch or so of movement...not so sure anymore though. This time the right side mounting frame raised up high enough that it hit my oil filter and jarred the filter adapter hard enough that it spit the o-ring out between the adapter and the engine block. Oil everywhere...and I had just changed it two hours before. :(

I do know that they are M16 x 70s because I got all new from JD and used high strength Loctite hoping that I could get them to stay in. I'm gonna take the loader off to rebuild it and may go ahead and weld studs in place rather than dealing with these bolt issues.

I have a '96 5200 with the 540 loader. There is NO flex in the mounting frame. Something is wrong with either the tractor or the frames. Maybe both ...
