542 Loader and 4 in 1 on a 4520?

I know the answer is probably No - but I have to ask.

Trading a 5425 Tractor with a 542 and 4 in 1, for a 4520 (Wan't my wife to be able to blow snow with it, and want it's lighter weight for cutting grass).

Will the 542 be too heavy? Is it totally not compatible? Can I at least use the bucket?

I don't think loader will work. Need to buy the 400x or 400cx on the 4520.
If your bucket is JD quick attach it will work on either 400 loader. You probably would want the 400cx to have a self leveling like you have now.
Order at least the EH third scv and the hard line kit to plumb the third function to the front of the loader for the 4 in 1. That way you can open and close it with a thumb switch on the loader joystick.

dusty's on the mark, there. 542 won't fit the 4000 tractor frame. I'd be suspect that the bucket will work.. I think the O.D. of the mount (top lip) and the width is larger than the loader attachment for the 400x-cx.

I know that the 563 loader attachment for my 5000 series tractor is quite a bit larger than the 400x-cx.

I know anything can be made to work. Brackets could be fabricated, BUT I would not try and put the 542 loader on the 4520. Lift capacity may damage a smaller machine. I would worry about the front axle weight rating of the 4520.

What size and weight is your 4 in 1 bucket? Frontier list both a 60" and 72" for the 400 loader.

i saw a new loader on a 4320 yesterday i believe it was a 553 loader. i need to call the dealer. i am looking for a 4320 with ag tires preferably used.

Hmm. If that is true (which is highly doubtful), the front axle will eventually break. The breakout force on the 553 is a higher rating than the 4320's front axle and would crush it.

I'm going to say that is a misunderstanding. There is no way that Deere would be putting their 5000 series loaders on a 4000 series machine. Though not a great comparison, the loader on my 5410 would cripple my 110 if it were put on there. It is overall a much larger loader. Your only options would be the 400X or 400CX, and the 4 in 1 could be saved if it's not much to large.
