What did the 55 series (755,855,955) sell for new? They produced them from mid 80's to late nineties right? Did they alter the HP up or down like on the 790's? I have a 755 but I need a little more power maybe a 855.

Thanks,
JT

If you got to Machinerylink.com. and click on the used tractor prices link, you'll find the information you want. The link is in the lower left section of the web page.

The 755 was about $15K new, the 855 was about $17K new.

As far as power ratings...don't believe any changes were made.

As far as the 790...that change was due to an engine change. Deere went to a smaller displacement engine in the 790. I doubt if you'd notice any difference since there's only 1 PTO Horsepower decrease with the newer engine. No idea why they did this...may have been the 790 (30 HP) was too close in power to the 4300 and was actually more then the 4200 series machines.

I have an 855 and still need more ponies. If your going to move up go to the 955, it's the same physical size as the 855 but has more HP, hydro gpm, and a little heavier.
