5525...heavy black exhaust turned into big oil leak

I agree with AKfish. When I read this, the first thing I thought of is a crankcase full of fuel because of one or more stuck injectors.
That would blow the dipstick out and cause excessive black smoke.
I blew the oil fill cap off of an old Ford Power Master with a gas burner on it, when the needle valve stuck open and filled the crankcase with gas. I started it up and boom, I got a shower of oil and gas.
This could be the same thing.

As a mechanic I always start with the cheap stuff first, the Vent make sure it is open and clear. Then remove the air inlet at the turbo and see if the turbine is loose or damaged if you put a little preasure to the side an turn it there should be no noise.
The muffler if it is plugged, just unbolt the exhaust pipe , from the turbo and after checking the oil level is good run it without the exhaust, if it runs fine the exhaust is the problem. If there is oil in exhaust you should remove the turbo and see if the oil is in the manifold. If it is in the manifold remove that and see which cylinder then, remove the valve cover and look at the valve guide seals if they are out of place, it can suck in oil past the intake and exhaust when idling. It could have a hole in the piston or a destroyed cylinder that will be found by cutting the oil filter apart looking for metal and then removing the oil pan.
Start with the cheap stuff.
I have seen many an engine torn apart for a coolant blowing out problem that needed a rad cap.
Just a thought!

I wish you guys were around here to check it out! I don't have alot of confidence in the JD mechanics we've got..... They have it in the shop now. Will let you know when they've got it figured.

Well, fortunately Deere has a 5-year warranty of the turbo and anything related to exhaust system. Problem with mine turned out to be faulty EGR valve which in turn caused failure of the wastegate control valve in the turbo. I have no idea what all this stuff does.....but apparently caused diversion of exhaust in some manner that overpressurized that crankcase that blew back the dipstick. I'll know more when its all done but this is what they're telling me. Replacement parts expected to be delivered by tomorrow.
