5600 with drive problems

Hi

The blower is bobcat, with hi-flow and is six feet. Yes I ended up removing the tailgate, you could get access, but afraid anybody working for me might have crushed something forgetting about it. I just replaced it with one of those bungee mesh type tailgates for the winter, it allowed for better visibity of the rear scraper anyway.

Hi

This rear unit was purchased through a company called snowman snowplows and it was around $5800.00 canadian. Their website is Home Page - Snowman Snowplow

Learned the hard way that this unit needed some added framing support which bobcat took care of free of charge. Only later to learn that the rear hydraulic downpressure is a bit much for this unit. The bobcat dealer is now going to install a 1000 p.s.i. release valve, but I'm going to see if they can install a adjustable release valve with accumulator. I'm told from a mechanic at work(oh yeah I do work in a salt mine as well) that this will take some adjusting to get just right the way I like it, but once set it should just float with the pressure that you choose. Think I'm going to need some luck.

Allan, Sounds like between your Bobcat dealer, mechanics at the mine, and yourself, that you have a pretty good handle on the situation. The idea of an adjustable relief and accumulator for the rear sounds good.....I like "adjustable", although not always in the hands of employees.

Once again, really nice set-up.....we would all be interested to hear periodic reports on how well it all works. Start a new thread, as this one has been hyjacked too much already.
