Ford 5610
Hi, I run a FORD 5610 w/ a NH 7210 FEL. I believe the hydraulics on the tractor run about 9 GPM. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/info on how to speed up FEL work, such as PTO pumps, a new/different pump running on the motor, and whatever else you can think of. Maintence hasn't been the greatest, the screw-on filter has been changed in the past month, but if there is anything else to look at, I dont know about it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Josh, welcome to the forum. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I hope we can make some valuable suggestions.

Do you have an Owner's Manual for your tractor or loader? Have you talked to your NH dealer or his service department?
I just bring that up because my 16LA Owner's Manual has all the times recorded in a nice table for easy reference. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Before you start making adjustments to the hydraulics, you need to establish some standards. For example, what is the normal lift and curl times for the 7210 FEL? What are your current times (empty) for roll, dump, and lift? All measurments should be made with the tractor warmed up. Even if you know it's too slow, how will you be able to see improvement if you don't have the current times recorded? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Once you have those times recorded, you can make accurate comparisons to the tractors original specs. Trying to achieve faster times is probably not advisable. It's just my guess that this type of troubleshooting can be slow and tedious. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

How about your 3PH? Does it also seem slow?

Well, I guess you asked a simple question and I asked you a bunch more instead of answering your question. Sorry... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I wish I had the answer, but all I have is suggestions for research. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Jinman- No I dont have any info as far as the times go, but I'll look into that, thanks for the tip. (I havent seen an owners manual, not really my machine, I'll ask) The 3PH does NOT seem as sluggish as the loader does. I know that the 3PH has an adjustment knob for flow, but I haven't heard of anything for the remotes??? I have heard that the 5610 is known to be a little short on hydraulics as far as volume goes anway, so thats why i was wondering about pumps. Someone has given me info on pto pumps, but i dont think i can swing the cost ($500 - $1000 i think) as i dont get enough use out of the tractor. Anyways, thanks for the help, I'll see what i can come up with.

On that size of tractor 9gpm is not really enough to run the loader. That is why quite a few of those Fords were ordered with the 2nd pump from the factory which gives you around 18.7 gpm I think it is. Not sure what it would cost to retro-fit one. But with your budget you'll not be doing much on that tractor unless you get lucky and find some good used parts. I'd look at a front mounted pump if not going with the factory dual set-up. But you'd need to add a fluid resevoir for it. A PTO pump would need one also though.
