I can't remember the channel(my baler OM is in tractor) on monitor to check voltage draw on actuator that moves tying arms. It could be a bad connection on baler wiring harness connector. I know Channel 15 will check tractor voltage. I have a neighbor with a 468 that rakes too slow with a 12 wheel rake V rake that repeatedly makes hour glass shaped bales. I've told him to speed up his rake tractor driver but he refuses to do so.

Hoffmtim that takes skill to get the HR glass look:D,never have baled one like that, usually just get a slight cone shape or high in middle. As for the low voltage sound like wiring, maybe bad connection since it wasnt all the time? I have very few days in hay field everything goes smooth.
Look good:thumbsup:

Foreman, I have to admit it was a self inflicted wound. When raking two rows together, the outside loop didn't get raked close enough to each other and I couldn't weave enough to make up for the "air" between the two rows. :duh:

Tx Jim, I'll have to check all the connections. It first started towards the end of the tying sequence on the first bale, and did it there again after the next few. Then it started showing the battery on the monitor off and on during the accumulation process, and depending on if it was on or off I would get the audible "almost full" and "full" beeps and auto-tie. I unplugged the monitor, plugged it back in and moved the chord so it was straight out of the outlet, and it worked great for the next 5 bales. Then it started again. Twice during manual tie, it wouldnt start the tying and I would have to keep pushing the button and then the tying would begin.

He could also adjust the windrow width narrower if he doesnt wont to speed up. I havent baled to many of my places I didnt have to work the windrow alot to get even bale, would be nice to have full windrow to just drive straight.

Get you a rake such as mine and your weaving days to make level bale are HISTORY. In most conditions the last few yrs I rake three 9'3" cuts together for a 4+ ft even windrow. My rake is a 14 wheel and it will cover some ground gathering hay. I agree on hour glass shaped bales to make a narrower windrow but my neighbor doesn't accept someone else's ideas.

Several yrs back I had similar problems tying hay on my 467 using my old JD 4255. I had to bypass the factory tractor installed wiring harness and run a wiring harness with a circuit breaker straight to battery. Long story/short story=problem solved.

Talked to the Service Manager about the issue. After describing the issue and discussing my tractor, he was concerned the 5093e's convenience outlet wiring wasn't heavy enough to handle the draw the actuator needs (which he said is quite heavy). He wants to provide me a "bypass" set of wires to test that theory and if it works and cures the issue then we'll know the tractor convenience outlet was the problem. Unfortunately, I'm done baling for 2013 so we'll have to give this a try next summer. He says he has seen this before and the bypass was the cure.

As a side note, he said he didn't have any other customers baling with this small of a tractor. I guess I live in BIG tractor country!

That's exactly why I had to run a wiring harness for monitor straight to a battery on my 4255

Same here wiring harness runs straight to battery. If yours is a small tractor hate to see what they call mine:laughing:

Tx Jim next time on 2013 hay season or PM me the cost and etc on your rake,so we are not messing hoffmtim thread. Maybe some more photos,i been thinking about upgrading next year from the wr20 I have now.

Mine was a different number JD baler but same cure.
