Hi I know some of you have replaced your stock radio, can you tell me how to remove the existing radio?

I tried removing the two bolts that are on the top of the metal radio bracket and it will not move?? is it also connected in back?

Thank you

Undid the ceiling fasteners when I took the plastic off of the cab insides, carefully, and replaced them without any sags in the roofliner. Thought about replacing my radio with satellite, but too much dollars this year. Will wait for the year that I make Some money. Best bet seems to me, loosen roofliner, pull cab top, chase wires back. I think that the wiring is standardized for a stereo or C.D. player, but I could be way wrong. The proffesional installer that I talked to last Spring said it was a simple install. I,m sure he is right, but I,m not a proffesuional, or even literate, installer!! Sidey

Update: Radio install went very well, I replaced with a $79 Mp3/SD Card/USB stereo from Walmart the clock works fine there is a Batt feed and keyed Pos wire already in place I was very impressed with teven the way Montana radio compartment it was very clean, and Montana has a seperate wiring pigtail so you just unclip it and it is easy to soder the new radio wires and just reclip.

To remove radio I took the two bolts from the top of the black radio bracket and radio easily removed.

I like the SD card on the radio it will hold 200+ Mp3's and since it is solid state no skipping.

Sound like a lot of radio for $80!! Guess I'm a little behind the times on the audio technology. I still have 4 ohm speakers at home and only two of them! I do like the idea of the USB port but then I would have to learn how to get the songs from my 8 tracks and albums onto the USB..............

Thanks Ken, Yes your right I was surprised for the price, but this makes a great Tractor radio especially with the SD Card and Usb just plug in and go and the vibration or dust should not be an issue
