580 C BACKHOE DOES NOT MOVE

1976 POWER SHUTTLE, DOES THE SOLENOID { CLUTCH CUTOUT } have anything to do with 580 not going into forward or reverse?
and if so how do i remove the solenoid that is attached to the shuttle?
Help and if its not the solenoid any idea what it could
forward and reverse worked one day and then it would not go into forward or revers the next day. when i move the lever to forward or reverse the solenoid
on the shuttle moves it just does not go into gear.

Did you check the hi/lo range to see if it's knocked into neutral? Happened to a farmer I knew... was ready to haul it to the shop.

If the clutch cut out solenoid is stuck or has continuous power supplied to it, it will prevent the transmission from engaging in either direction.

The solenoid is located on the left side of the shuttle transmission. It's item # 16 in the diagram below. Before you remove the solenoid, check the wires to see if you have continuous power to the solenoid. If you do, check the button switch in the floor. The ones with the rubber boots were known to get filled with dirt and stick.

Like teg said, check the simple things first. Make sure the the 4 speed (shifter in the floor) is in gear. Check fluid level. Lift rear wheels and see if they will attempt to turn when the shuttle is engaged. There are lots of things that can cause your problem.
