I know i haven't posted much lately. I've some pretty serious health problems that I'm still trying to recover from.
I got really tired of having to pull my 2wd international and camper with the tractor every time the grass was wet. I have since brought in 40 yards of crushed concrete and put it down by the road but i park my camper about 400-500 feet off the road and probably use about 900 foot loop which is entirely separate from my normal drive so stone or concrete is prohibitively expensive.
I bought the upper half of a 5th wheel hitch. Not concerned that its only rated for 16000lbs as it will never be used over about 4 mph.
I Bought some steel c-channel and dusted off the hypertherm 45xp plasma cutter to shape the steel to fit around my quick hitch. I then welded it up with my miller 252. I have to use this every spring as its a very slight uphill climb to the parking spot.
If i know its bad i just unhook at the road and grab the tractor.
The empty pin weight is about 3700lbs on the camper
I can't turn as sharp as with the truck but I'm able to extend the top link a long ways and push the camper rearward if i really need to turn
