I've had a good experience with my Woods BB720X. I have it mounted to a CAT2 SpeeCo quick hitch and a hydraulic top link.

Today, my mower made a living.

Before.

The T-B-N archive is your friend.

Here is an archive search using the single word RHINO:

Google

I like a Rotary Cutter with a gear box rated at around twice the horsepower of my tractor.

We have Woods as well as Land Pride, my 6' is an LP RCR2672 which is essentially the LP equivalent in features to the Woods BB720X, but I prefer the quick change blade feature on the Woods as well as better tail wheel assembly and rear bumper. Our Woods dealer has gone to heck, so not an option for me, but I highly recommend it, love our DS1260.

Just remember to get a thick gauge deck,
stout gear box front and rear chains. I went with a Brush Hog BH26 6 ft. with a 135hp gear box, slip clutch and 10 ga.deck.

Rhino and Woods are the two I'd focus on if my Comer replacement gearbox goes before the MX-5 deck it resurrected fails... how many # of lift do you have at the 3pt and HP at the PTO? If you can handle a 4" rated cutter, I'd look to that used market--well beyond my machine. Bush Hog is another brand I'd seriously look at.

Here's another vote for the Woods...

A woods bb720x or a bb72x would be my first choice for a med/med-heavy 6ft cutter.

Light duty should do 2" trouble free ... virtually forever. Thats like grass to a bushog. Med duty is a reasonable upgrade to allow for unpredictable situations. When youre aiming for survival get one with a gearbox double your tractor HP.
