I started using the 60 inch swisher pull behind finish mower with my 2305 to mow my back 4 acres and it is doing a great job, I am actually impressed with the quality of the cut , near the same as the 2305 with 62C , but now only about half of the time.

I'm glad to see its working out for you. I had an older Swisher I used to pull behind my quad. It was very hard to start. It was a pull starter with a Briggs. I sold it for what I paid for it but I saw it had potential if it started. When it did it saved me a lot of time with m grass cutting.

I think that is a great way to mow a large, open area. Have you considered changing the hitch and pulling it on the left side of the tractor? That way the Swisher will not be re-cutting the clippings from the tractor and leaving a heavy trail. The clippings will settle down faster and should look better if the Swisher only has to cut new grass. However, you may have a good reason for pulling it the way you do. Good luck.

But still usless for mowing out over ditches and road banks.
The flaw in these things is the wheels extend out past the mower when the mower should extend out beyond the wheels.:)

The one in his pictures appears to have the wheels inside of the cutting width.

My 60" Swisher has an electric start 13HP engine. Starts right up.

The wheels are set inboard of the cutting width by a few inches each side.

Not sure what model you are referring to.

I built one similar to a Swisher for a friend. He loves it. A person should buy the piece of equipment to do the job at hand, which is what it appears DMG did. Nowhere on Swisher's website does it say that it will do ditches and roadbanks, so I would not surprised that if it won't do them. However, it does do a great job for what it is built to do, and anyone with a large flat open yard will appreciate one if they are trying to decrease the time it takes to mow their yard. Heck, my boom mower doesn't do flat yards worth a darn but for some reason I am not surprised about that either.
The right tool makes the difference.

1* We cut mowing time with me on the BX23 and the wife on the CC GT2554.
2*If it was designed /built correctly it could be the right tool for both jobs.
3*Just because something does a great job don't mean that it couldn't do more and or better.
