60\" Kubota MMM

Can anyone give me the blade bolt head size?
I have received a gift certificate from Sears and
would like to get a socket and breaker bar for my
mower.
It is a RCK60-24B Kubota model.

Don't know if this will help you much.........

I needed metric sockets for my BX2200 (mainly for the lug nuts). I went to Harbor Freight and bought a 1/2 drive SET of deep impact sockets for like $15. This gave me sockets for the lug nuts, the mower blades and probably all I will need for the unit.

When I was younger, I would never consider cheap tools, but I'm at the stage in my life that cheap tools will likely last longer than I will need to use them.......... Grim, but probably true.

Do you have any children or other inheritors? My boys will probably fight over my tools and shop when I go. I don't have a ton of tools, but I believe that real value lies in good quality, be it tools, cars, trucks, tractors, or whatever.

Ron, I'm with you on the cheapo tools - on occasion. I like the Craftsman and Snap-On stuff alot - but I'm not going to pay that kind of money for a one-two time use tool.
So, I have been using some "Snap-Off" tools, contrary to my better judgement. If I had a cheaper tractor I could afford better tools, but then I wouldn't need them, time for more medication.

Ah, we have a son and daughter, but I have enough tools for 5+ kids, so there won't be any fighting. I used to be a farm equipment mechanic, so I have some really good tools as a main set, then some cheaper stuff for the car and truck, and more stuff I seldom use.

Not to worry about passing tools along...........

I have a RCK60B-22BX 60 INCH MMM and the manual calls out 30.2 mm or 1-3/16 for the nut (probably the same as your model).

I bought a 1-3/16 air impact socket at NAPA and it fits perfect.

I'm with you on the cheap tools. If they do the job that's all that is required. I use to change some U-joints on small Cat fork lifts at work and the only thing that would do it was a snap on, that is that I could find. It was a big fine tread bolt that a 12 point 5\16 socket would fit and it was a 1\4 in drive. That thing took a beating getting the u joint loose because the were tight and not hardly any room to work. Cheap ones just would not stand the pressure /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Very true. I work with tools for a living and I have a lot of different brands but mostly Craftsman and Snap-On. There is a difference. But there is also a difference between somebody who might use a screwdriver once a month and somebody that uses one 20 times a day. I'm not afraid to buy cheap if it's something I know I will hardly ever use. But as for the tools I use on a day to day basis... the money is worth it. I consider Craftsman to be a cheap brand but that do make some pretty good tools. Snap-On, Mack, Matco... they are expensive... but you get what you pay for. One day I was working on a fire truck at work and there were stainless screws going into aluminum. Not the best combination. I tryed removing them with a #2 phillips Craftsman screwdriver and didn't have any luck... then I picked up a #2 Snap-On screwdriver and out they came! That right there impressed me and suprised me that the Snap-On would get it out but the Craftsman wouldn't!

I'm not endorsing any store or tool, but I got a set of Stanley 1/2" sockets at WalMart that are 1 inch up to about 1 3/4 inches that work just great. The 1-3/16 socket works great on the mower bolt and I prefer to use my air impact to remove the bolt over a breaker bar.
