60" MMM concerns

   / 60" MMM concerns #11
Update on the situation....mowed this weekend and the gear box was still leaking.

Pulled the gear box off the deck last night, dropped the gear box off at the dealer this morning to get serviced....hoping it's just the bottom seal.

Me too. I'm pulling for ya.

I have the 60" MMM too. the manual calls for the gear box seal to be replaced every two years. Hopefully, that's all that's wrong.

I have a 60MMM and at the end of last year i changed the gear oil, cleaned and sharpened and all that crap before storage. Anyway I stored the deck vertical to save space and all winter it leaked from the gear box, just everyone once and a while there would be a small bit of oil there.

I topped it off this year and started mowing. I have no idea where it came from or why, but i figure as long as its full i will be OK.

it's possible the seal is leaking mine was leaking on my 54" deck with 100 hours on it

I'm interested as to what the finding is on the gear box.

Mine is stored vertically, and I see a tiny drip...but I assume it is coming from the sintered vent plug.

I have stored by 60" deck on my bx24 since 2007 vertical and no issues. strange.

I always store it vertical, not sure what year, but it is from b1750 - 20 years old or so??

Actually, I should say I "saw" a tiny drip, sort of a one time wetness, then no more. It was obvious it came from the vent cap.
