60\" mower question

I had the blades off my mower today to sharpen them and I noticed that the center spindle is different than the two outside spindles on mine. The outside spindles have pieces between the spindle and the blade that wrap slightly around the blade, while the center spindle doesn't have anything. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or am I missing some pieces /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks,
Scott

Re: 60\" mower question

That is how mine is as well, so I take it that it was designed this way...

Re: 60\" mower question

I think it is to protect the hydraulic motor because that
blade is bolted directly to the motor - so if you hit something it will just spin

Re: 60\" mower question

I hope you greased the spindles while you were under there. I didn't even know the darn zerts were there until Don @ PT mentioned them.

Yep. and I hit 'em every time I mow too. They are in kind of an inconvenient place aren't they. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
