Would a 60" front mount snowblower be too much for the GC2300?

I don't see why not. Blowers aren't that heavy. As long as the PTO speeds are similar, I can foresee no problems. Can you get it to fit? Do you have the correct mounting gear? When I was doing the research on my 2360 purchase, I found that the Kubota mounts were the same as the MF. Indeed so is the blower.

This one is pretty beefy. It has the subframe with it but I'd have to fab mounts to hold it in the front of the tractor. The snowblower does have hydraulic lift and rotation...not sure I want to mess with it but the price is right.

If you are in a heavy snow area you will be very pleased. When I was looking for a blower I would probably have bought it. Another thought is to get the MF PTO shaft, tractor mount, and blower mounting attachment, then adapt the blower to the already known and available mounting points/hardware. Another thought how does the chute rotate? The MF uses a long expandable pole to rotate a screw type mount. You will want something to rotate the chute. I also bought a hydraulic motor to rotate the chute, but never installed it. Maybe one day.

Finally, the hour after you do your first blowing you will start the next search for a cab. :) The winter before having the blower I spent hours/days pushing snow. Only minor inconveniences. The very first time I blew snow against the wind, I knew something was drastically different. I literally could have completely covered myself in snow on the tractor if the snow had been as bad as the year before.

Just my own thought and experiences. Yours may be totally different.

Good points. The PTO shaft comes with this blower and it already has a hydraulic motor to lift the blower and also rotate the chute.

You all may be convincing me.

My experience with the MF 60" blower has been... well, impressive, to say the least.

I have had it bog down a bit, to the point that I had to move forward a bit more slowly, but only with wet, heavy snow. The throw distance was reduced from 50+ feet to 30 feet or so, still pretty darn good in my book.

As has been pointed out, however, be sure to dress for the weather- I do get pretty well covered with snow if the wind's not cooperating; most of the time I just wait for the wind to die down before attempting to blow.

Take a look at he pics and see how much snow is ON the tractor.... just imagine what the operator looked like!

I didn't know that MF made a 60" for the GC series. For whatever reason I thought it was 42 or 48. It's interesting that the main concern in this thread is how I dress rather than if a 60" blower is too big for the GC2300! Thanks guys, maybe I'll pull the trigger after all.

I have a GC2410 and the MF 48" snowthrower. I can't answer your question directly, but I can certainly say the tractor has power to spare with my setup. It sounds like availability at good price, used, is a big factor for you. If one were trying to decide if the 60" is worth spending more new compared to the 48", I would suggest considering the width of the area you're clearing. If mainly a narrow driveway, you might still need to make 4 passes even with the larger unit, so you wouldn't be saving any time. My driveway is narrow enough that maybe I could be doing 2 passes instead of 4 if I had the 60", but I'm satisfied with how it's gone in two winters so far.

The 2360 is a 50" blower. A few inches wider should not be a problem. I did forget to mention having lots of sheer bolts on hand. They break at the most inconvenient times. ;-)
