6000 compared to a 7520 in economy

I'm running a Vermeer rebel. 5 years trouble free. 40 hp is all that's needed.
5410 Rebel Baler - Vermeer Corporation
The 6000 and the 4' wide baler compliment each other very well. I particularly like the 4' wide rolls because if you need to move them on the road they aren't hanging off your trailer.
Just let me know if you want to check out this combo in action. I'll put you to work this summer!

Becareful what you wish for. I might just show up, bet I could learn some things.
I checked out the link to the 5410 and it looks sweet. What does something like that run? What type of cutter do you use?

Come on down I can always use the help!
5 years ago I bought the Rebel new through my local Mahindra dealer from CCI on this board. I paid about $12500. I don't know what has happened to prices since then. I have considered trading up to an M series.

Why are you thinking of moving up to the larger baler?

Been running a 6500 4wd for almost two years now. Relative to the questions at hand: loader speed has not been an issue, even using forks and and oversized pallet to put bales in the loft; fuel fill with cans is not bad if you get a decent fuel funnel, but mostly I road mine to the Citgo station with the bucket full of cans (for the Gator, lawn mowers, little Allis, etc. Only road it alone maybe one time out of three. Figure I'd be driving a pickup over with the cans anyway, might as well take em in the loader and refuel the tractor at the same time. Where I am the minimum delivery on off-road and the cost of the setup to hold it means auto-diesel is nearly the same price; I do agree the 00 series is crowded in the operator station, especially compared to the 20 series. Bottom line for me was one solid, heavy, powerful tractor with QA loader, forks, bale spear, and canopy for what I would have paid for tractor alone from the competition. Lovin' that "new Red" (my baler is IH = "old Red").

Net wrap, lower profile, no stopping to discharge the bale and tax situation. Not going bigger. 4x4 is plenty big enough for me. Just looking to go faster. I'm getting big enough with custom work that time is of an essence.
