62-64 Ford 4000 fluids ? and rehab update

Hi folks had some time to work on backhoe/ loader this month. New clutch, brakes, paint, wiring and on and on....

Question: IS it OK to run Universal hyd fluid in the trans and rear end and Power steering pump, the same type used in the loader and backhoe? I found the level plug on the left of rear end and filler plug on top, I see the filler plug next to shift level (4 sp trans).

Question 2 how to check level in trans. I have a dip stick next to PTO level on left side is this for the trans?

btw bought a shop manual but is was one of those compilation from multiple tractors, waste of money...

utf in all sumps except engine is fine. some prefer gear oil in dif and trnas.. but utf is fine.

dipstick by pto shifter is for hyds.

check level plug for trans is on right side about where yer heel is on running board. it's a plug.. not a bolt.. remove no bolts on that side!!!.

Found the plug Roger on the bolts...

what hydraulics are inside the trans case? I have a PTO pump for the backhoe in the rear (removed in pic for painting) and a pump bolted to the front to operate the loader and a Power Steering pump on the engine.

Included some more pic planning to post detail of how I adapted Honda alt to unit.

no pump in the trans, however those 4 cyls had an engine mounted pump pretty much ahead of your right foot at the rear of the engine.. plumbing ran thru the trans housing and then up the center housing to the lift cover under the seat, where it runs remotes and or 3pt hyds.
