hey guys I have a 6200 that will not start, I can hear the pump cut on when I turn the key on, but then i have to bleed it and then it will take off. why is it loosing its prime??? I replaced the pump about 300 hours ago, but that time it wont start period.. now its fine once I bleed it. It takes it overnight to loose it. If I run it and start it through the day its ok... seems like the cold has a little something to do with it too maybe??

any suggestions???

I have a 6400 and it had the same problem. Check all fuel line connections and make sure the fuel line itself is good. I had to replace some of the fuel line because it had gone bad and was leaking. The clamp on the fuel line was also loose where it connects on top of the tank.

that sounds possible, especially since I have had it all apart right there where in goes into the tank

The original fuel hose on these were notorious for going bad. They were made out of a braided cloth outside material. They would get porous and allow fuel to seep through and air to leak in. I usually replace the original hoses with normal rubber fuel line and also install an in-line check valve near the filter. Go to your dealer and ask for part number
AL117189. Just cut the hose near the fuel filter and splice it in. MAke sure the arrow on the valve is pointing in direction of flow. The later models had these installed at the factory.

If it is loose I think you should tighten it so that you dont lose it.

Yes the part number is the same one used in later tractors. The earlier ones did not use a check valve. If the system is perfectly sealed, a check valve is not really needed. The check valve is a safety for imperfections in the filter, and the fuel lines.
