640 split

Just enough snow was gone and the ground was froze enough that I could drag this 640 parts tractor from out back to the front of the barn for a split. I been soaking the seized engine since last year and it won't budge so it's time to tear it down. I just picked up another 640 with bad trans so I'll switch out the back half with this one.
Always fun splitting tractors in the driveway when the concrete floor space is all tied up. Just hoping for no more snow.

Yea, it's a nice easy split. Got the one with the bad trans split today, after a rain delay. probably get the good trans/rear hooked back up tomorrow. Always something to do here on the farm.

Yea, the boom pole is a very handy implement for not a lot of money. Towed the back half of the tractor out back behind the wood so my wife can't see it. Sez our driveway looks like a tractor junk yard. Completed the split and switch. Just have to clean the gas tank, put a muffler on and put the tin back on. Took it for a spin around the yard and trans/rear operates smooth without any noise. I happy about that cause when buying a parts tractor you never really know what your going to get.
