I own a 4530 nothing I know or heard of in the 30 series that would steer someone zaway from them. THe 30 series is a bare bones, no frills work horse. Make sure everything you put behind it is heavy duty!!!

I have a 5530 4wd and if you want a heavy work horse, you can not beat the 30 series. I have pulled a 2 bottom plow, 8' disc, and 6' brush hog with ease. I wouldn't be surprised if I could pull an 8' brush hog. The loader is strong, will lift all day long, not as quick as a construction grade machine - but it is an ag machine. The QA on the loader is great for pallet forks, or any thing else you can dream up. Do get the dual remotes installed and rear tires loaded. I looked at NH/JD/KUBOTA and landed on Mahindra based on weight, price, and simplicity of the machine. Also there is a great network of owners/dealers on here that are very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend the 30 series to anyone looking for a utility sized tractor. My only regret with the 5530 is that I didn't go for the 6530, only because the dealer didn't have one on site and the price was right on the 5530. If you are worried about buying American, ask the other guys where there utility class (45-70hp) machines are made. I was surpirsed to find none of them are made here in that size. :( If you have any questions give me shout, I don't have all the answers but tell you what I know. Good luck!

I have a 5530 turbo 4wd and evrything I use with this ag tractor is heavy duty. I pull a 10' Mahindra/Kodiak, an 8' HD Bison BB use twin remotes could use three on this BB, a QA set of 4000# rated 48" forks, a 266ML FEL. Do I have power left over absolutely. This spring I'll be pulling a 3x16 Ford/Dearborn 10-209 plow and finding out what it will do at 8'' depth of plowing. Not bad for buying ithe tractor sight unseen and without even test driving any Mahindra. I knew what I wanted and got it..and stil very pleased.

Trook,

Cutting drainage grass which is 2'-4' tall will dictate the speed. If i had a side rake and baler I could easliy bale the tall stuff that is mowed. Later this spring I may have some of those tall grass pics being cut. I have yet to bog the tractor down in any grass. I've attached two photos of the tractor and mower and of the grass that was in CRP for more than 20 years - taken by cell phone-sorry for the lack of clarity on that pic. The mower also does wonders on small pine trees up to 4", noisy but does the job on those over grown (weeds). In my comparison research before purchasing, it was shown that 3pt units need more pto power and I went with the 10' pull type to maximize my pto hp. Glad I went this route. Have 60 plus acres to mow.

I guess I will chime in also.
I love my 5530 around the house.
Before I bought it I was using a 961 Ford PowerMaster which was a great tractor for a kid that needed a tractor for a house and land I just purchased but wow, this tractor is like night and day difference. Heavy, well built and simple.

I purchased a 6' brush cutter 1 year before buying the 5530 cuz I needed one for the Ford but now I wish I would have waited and got at least a 7' but I have no doubt it will handle an 8 footer.

Also the only regret I have is not going w/ the 6530 b/c it is always nicer to have a bit more power and after factoring in having the dual rear rem's added it would not have been much more. Although it is a bit wider and it would not have fit on my equipment trailer and I would hate to have to spend mucho$$$ on a bigger trailer.

Good luck in your tractor purchase whatever you find to buy, and enjoy:thumbsup:
