In front of the injector pump on a 6600 Ford I am using is what appears to be an oil filler cap. What type of oil and how much goes in this part of the pump?
that is the oil filler for the engine oil if there is a plug on top of the injection pump and it uses what ever motor oil u are running in the tractor if it has a rotary style pump which is a cav. it does not use oil in the pump

The oil fill being next to the injection pump on the Perkins engine threw me off at first too.
After reading about injector pump lube (added to the diesel fuel) on one of the diesel forums I have started using the Wal-Mart Marine oil that clearly states it meets the TCW3 specs at one ounce per gallon. I just get the 16 oz bottles ($1.97 locally) and use one per near complete fillup.
It does in our case reduce the pump noise. The new diesel should have something added by the distributors to make up for the loss of the old type diesel fuel but since the lube makes things sound better I "assume" the pump is happier.
