67 or 70 loader???

Howdy,
I have an opportunity to buy an 850 in execellent shape, however it doesn't have a loader and I really want one. The owner has a 650 with a model 67 loader and says he will put the model 67 on the 850. Will it fit?
If not, how much does a used loader that will fit cost (I think the 70 is the std. loader for these, correct)?

I dug through my old brochures and found the 75 loader fits the 850-1050. It lifts 850lbs. It also says the 67 loader fits the 650-750 tractors. I have a 1050, great tractors. I'm not much help on pricing as we bought the loader on the tractor and that was in '87 or so.

Just a suggestion - check out the Kelly D1000 loaders for your 850.

I have a JD750 that I bought in 1985 without loader. I checked around, and I found that I could get a really great deal on a Kelly aftermarket D1000 thru Leonard Schaffer (815) 284-3226 who is known around here on TBN. He was offering a substantial discount last year.

The Kelly lifts 1000 lbs, and it has been fine on my 750. Installation was relatively easy on my 750 and took me a Saturday to accomplish. The price was right and it works just fine. Your 850 is a slightly larger version of my 750 and has about the same engine, but with a few more horsepower. The 750 is not underpowered at all with the D1000, and the kit comes with all the necessary loumbling to hitch your hydraulics into the hydraulic block located under the drivers seat. I was using it this weekend and it is amazing the size rocks I can pick up with it. Mounting is via three large bolts on each side of the engine/transmission housing and four bolts on the front end of the tractor which support the front bracket. If used within its design specs, it is fine. I just have to remember that I am not driving a bulldozer, but that will be true no matter what brand of FEL you put on your compact tractor.
