Grading 6ft rear blade vs 6ft 3pt snowplow

I recently aquired a well used Meyer 6 ft power angle snowplow off of a jeep. I was considering fabbing 3pt hookups on it and using it for snow removal instead of my 6 foot backblade. The plow is power angle, and I do have aux remotes to run the power angle. My question is, what do you guys think, Will the snowplow perormance greatly exceed that of the 6 foot back blade, or is it not worth messing with.

I think you would be happy with it in the snow. My father had his fisher plow mounted directly to his 3 PT on Massey ferguson and he took the top link support bars off (triangular frame) from his bushhog and used that with plow. In the summer time he just returns the top link bars back to the bushhog so its a double duty for him. He never angled it though. he felt he didnt need to. He just bolted the plow so it stays straight all the time. Someday this winter, Ill have to take a picture of it and post it here for others to see .

I think it will work fine. I dont see any negatives. Positives are power angle and taller blade, maybe springs if you choose to keep them so when hitting something it will trip instead of break something.
I have seen a number of them on tractors with just the straight blade, but I think it would be cool to see it angle.

Why not set it up on the front? More mounting work, but much better than always looking over your shoulder.

built in skid pads if you dont have guage wheels for rear blade.

i aquired a large 8' snow plow that came with my dump truck... never considered putting it on the back of the tractor....

No way would I like a manual angle much less a blade that could not be angled.
