I have a 2001 6x4 yellow Industrial Worksite Gator with diesel engine. It runs perfect and all the maintenance has been done. It does need new seats and possibly some of the plastic that has cracked, which I have no problem replacing before I sale it. It is built a lot beefier than the 'green' models and I am told it has the same undercarriage as the ones used by the military. I know it is strong as an ox and has heavy duty metal and even includes a military style pintle hitch. I have posted about it on here before and I think I included pictures of it.

I am trying to part out some of my equipment around the house to make room for other toys. I have found a couple of these on craigslist and other sites for around $8500. We paid $15000 back in 2001 when my company bought two of them new. I am looking for honest opinions as to what it may actually be worth. Should I go with the $8500 I keep seeing? There are some that go for less, but they are either ragged out, gas powered, or green (lesser build quality). Please give your opinions.

Thanks,

When Deere released the xuv chassis in 2006, this affected the used values of the 6x4 machines and many dealers quit selling/stocking them altogether at this point. 5 years later the 5 series xuv's where released, hammering another nail in the 6x4 used market value. They where/are a great machine with hefty payload capabilities but turning them in slick conditions wasn't great. As a side note to the durability the 6x4 gators they are one of the only utility vehicles that where air drop certified w/out any modifications (at least in the vintage's ref here, I can't speak for current machines built a decade + later). But compared to virtually everyone else's sxs from that time frame, something broke when dropped out of a plane making them inoperable. Requiring them to add/modify to have the ability to sell to the military.

When I bought my Diesel mule around 2001, I discounted the JD on account of no front wheel drive. Can't imagine turning in difficult conditions without driven front wheels.

I am looking for an additional Electic Gator. Prices are all over the map. Nice ones are more then worn, weathered looking ones. I see you can buy Yellow Gator seats at Northern for around a hundred bucks.

I have no doubt that the 6x4 is more of a "work" vehicle then the new Gator offerings. The new market seems to be the baby boomers with extra money (or credit) and an apparent need to do 60 in a UTV!
