I found for sale a set of spoked rims and axle stubs from an early implement. The rims are in good shape but the tires are no good. If I purchase this item I intend to build a light duty trailer. To be used for work around the house and hayrides for the kids. The problem is that I can not find 7.50X24 tires anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find tires of this size? I was hoping to find tires that are turf style or ribbed implement. Thanks.

Tires 7.50X24 are pretty easy to find and for only around $800.00 each. There should be a truck tire store fairly close. If you are lucky used ones could be found.

Personally I would pass on those rims. 750X20 tires are real common and go for around $200.00 brand new.

For the use's you describe I would go a lot smaller, such as P/U tires and rims.

Crash325 thanks for the information. Wow - $800 per tire! That is a little more than I wanted to pay. I will see if I can find some used ones or like you said it may be best to just pass on these rims.

Just my way of thinking, and that may not be worth much:confused:

In the 70's steel spoke rims were real popular. Think that checking a few junk yards a set or 2 could be found, maybe with axles and tires. Should be a quick and easy way to make a hay ride wagon.

Mobile home axle's are removed all the time and most of them are spoked. They even look kind of old fashion. Check with some movers in your area.

They should be fun, fast and easy to fill your needs.

Have fun & when you get it built send pictures,

Picture is one on my grand father's little projects. And I helped (OK hindered ) him build it. It was authentic in all ways.

More later if you like.:drink:

Crash325, that is a real nice stage coach your grandfather built. Thanks for sharing the picture.

Yeah, I was thinking that a spoked rim wagon would have a good "cool factor rating". I will have to check at the local junk yards and even try looking for the mobile home axle you mention. I like the old style look.

On my uncles farm we have quite a few of the all steel spoked rim wheels on old implement in the back field but I like the idea of the spoked rims with the rubber tires for a better ride.

When and if I get all the pieces to build this wagon I will share the results.
