Does anyone use a 7' finishing mower with a 3130? I've been shopping for a finishing mower and was planning to get a 6', but I was wondering how a 7' performed with the 25 PTO HP of a 3130.
When Our company jumps from 6 ft to 7 ft, the weight jumps 300 pounds and it is a monster. Our 6 ft "First Choice" in Orange color and rear discharge is $1395. I would definitely stay with a 6 footer. Ken Sweet
No, not a 7 footer on a L3130 but I run a Woods 6 footer on my B3200 and it doe a terrific job. It is quite heavy and I do know It's back there. I believe between the B3200 and your L3130 the horse power is pretty close although I know the L weighs in more. The 6 footer might be the choice for you.

I have to agree with everyone else the 7 foot is too big. I had a 6 foot Land Pride RFM on my B7800 which I think was 23 Pto Hp and it did fine , but the 7 foot on my L3940 works it pretty good.
I run a 7 foot Land Pride finish mower on my L4200 Kubota. Perfect fit... I have also ran right at an 8 foot flail.
The best gage as to how much you should normally run with is: If you are usually using near 100% of your HP you are over loaded...
You should be able to throttle up from rated PTO speed while cutting whatever you would normally cut. If you can not increase your rpm... you are going to be running too close to your max sustained load.
I think a 6 foot finish mower would most likely top out what you would want to continually subject your tractor to. KennyV
