Well at 700hrs. The L45 still impresses me all the time, at what it can dig out and the lifting capacity of the loader. The machine has worked flawlessly for me over the past few years. Anything that has broke was due to operator error. Let me say that in my option the insurance that kubota makes you purchase when you finance has been very useful for me, and trouble free. First one day I was lifting a big knot of brush with the grapple trying to flip it up on top of some brush that was already in the dump truck and a log about 8 diameter and 4 long slipped out of the back side of the grapple and slammed onto the hood. Lets just say that the hood was totaled. I priced the hood out it was going to cost $600.00 not including the decals. I then remembered that I had the insurance and called and asked them if this would be covered and they said absolutely. It was replaced with out question and I had to pay the deductible that was $250.00. Than recently I purchased the 74 land pride snow blower. I financed it and Kubota finance charged me $50.00 for the insurance that they require. After a snow storm this winter I was going along a little faster than I should have and the wear shoe on the blower got fetched up on a catch basin and severely bent the 3pt hitch arm on the blower. I was going to fix it myself, which would of required the piece of channel iron cut out and replaced. I than remembered the insurance once again. Called them up and they replaced the whole frame of the blower, total job cost $2,400.00. Once again paid the $250.00 deductible and is like new. I will attempt to purchase the insurance once it is up at the end of the loan term. It has been well worth it in my option.
If you are ever in the ;position that I was when I bought this tractor, which was stuck between the L45 or the Kubota L3240 with the backhoe. Go with the L45! I was so nervous about the size of this thing but it was so worth the extra money. Just about every time I am at a job using the backhoe, I think of how close I was to getting the 3240 instead of the L45. And think how happy I am that I went with the L45. The one seat operation is a must, the creep function is used all the time too. Other than the issues mentioned above there has not been any issues with the unit. Its has started (a little reluctant though) on freezing cold days in the teens. This thing has never let me down. I have worked it very hard on hot summer days and it doesn稚 even flinch.
As far as attachments go. I have a log splitter for the back that has split several cords of wood, a Wallenstein 62r chipper with the hydro feed, a 5 tiller, a 5 land pride brush mower, a 74 Land pride snow blower, a grapple for the front, and pallet forks. They have all worked very well and I am extremely satisfied with them. I have cleared a lot of brush for people with this tractor and have found that the undercarriage is pretty protected. I have noticed only one little dent in one of the hydro filters from a branch whacking it. To service the tractor is very easy to me. I have heard of people having to dump all the hydro fluid to change filters. The manual only calls for this every other service. I have had no problem at all with leaving the fluid in for the services that don稚 require the fluid being dumped. Just have the new filter ready and unscrew the old one and have the new one ready to screw on. Loose less than a gallon of fluid.
I hope this helps someone that is at sometime looking at the L45.
I have been nothing but satisfied with the L 45 and am hoping that I will be checking back in to do a 1,400 hr review some day.
