715 and 815 combine reel speed.

THere an old International ealer going under and they are selling the trade inlot to junkers. I picked up a few hydraulic reel motors from some 715 and 815 combines and the brand is TRW motors. I cant find the reel rpm anywhere. I know it will be lower than the hydro motors rpm becaause of the reduction.

This might help you some. You could back into it with a couple of estimates. Like the diameter of the reel on the combine, or go measure one if you want to get more accurate. I'm not familiar with IH, but lets say it's 5 feet.

Then assume that the reel matches ground speed at 8 MPH. So when it's going 8MPH, the reel speed matches the ground speed.

If my memory is correct, the perimeter of the reel would be 15.7 feet. 8 MPH means that 704 ft / minute. So in one minute, going 704 ft, your reel would turn 44.8 RPMS.

If you know the size of the belt pulleys, you could also back into the RPM of the motors.

Been too many years since I've been on a combine, so forgive me if my assumptions are wrong. You could plug in different values and get a range of RPMs, assuming you can't measure a real unit.

Thanks for the information Ron, Ive never been on a working combine before lol usually just robbing parts lol. I m converting a pto winch to hydraulic and that speed sounds about right that means the motor with its reduction will eficiently run my winch. I very much appreciate this take care TL
