Im assuming this is too much blower for this tractor. My buddy runs a 60 on his 2320 and it works it in heavy snow. I found a pretty good deal on one but will probably pass due to it being to large but wanted some opinions.

You'll be just fine. All you need to do is gather up a FEL bucket of snow first to help counter the weight of your new blower. The neat thing about PTO hp, is that it is a quantification of work. Increase width, decrease feed rate. You won't be able to pull the same lap times as your neighbors 2320, but you'll make less laps and end up with the same amount of work done! Of course pics and video will be mandatory when that beast arrives.

I guess it all depends on what kind of snow you get. I hate to be argumentative on a holiday, but 72 inch is way too big. 60 inch is too big but I'm not getting into that argument. In fact, if you would have came by my house 2 years ago I could have proven to you the 47 inch was too big for the first pass. Wet, heavy, wind packed, refrozen, 16 inches deep or more and able to hold up a 270 pound man is what I get to play in.

Normally i would totally agree. I use a 72'' rfm behind my jd2320 and 2305 with no problems. I don't even need to slow down unless I'm mowing 12'' or taller grass/weeds. I have a 60'' snow blower which i find too large for the 2320. I find it difficult on that ''first'' pass. When the snows a foot deep or more i find 60'' cumbersome and difficult to keep everything going where i want with limited traction. I would imagine 72'' would just make it that much worse. JMHO. if its a good deal, it may be worth buying, trying it out for yourself and see. It may work for you. If it doesn't work, sell it, you may make a couple of bucks for your effort.

i used to have a 60" on my JD870. it was a 28 HP, gear drive unit and i was constantly having to shift it into the lowest gear ratios to blow the wetter snow. If the tractor is HST than i dont think that there would have bee the issues with the larger blower, but with only 3 ranges of reverse, i was way underpowered with 28HP and a 60" blower.

believe me, in first range reverse i think i had about 1.5 MPH speed if i recall. it sucked.

I'd agree it's too big, but if you go slow enough, it'll work. Can your tractor pick it up is a better question. I'd take a guess that my 74" pull blower is 1500#. Even if this one is only 1000#, it hangs back there a ways. Your lift capacity is 1150# 24" from pins according to TractorData.com (TractorData.com John Deere 2320 tractor information).

Sounds like you have a snow blower with a tractor implement.

What kinda deal are we talking? Might be worth picking up and flipping.

Oh yeah you could make money on that. I find that larger implements seem to take longer to sell though. Just my experience.
