72\"MMM conflict on the 2520

I just took delivery of a 2520 with a JD 72"MMM. In order to remove the mower deck from the tractor, I had to lift the front wheels of the tractor off the ground a few inches using the FEL in order to have the ground-clearance to roll the mower deck under the tractor.

The arms on the mower deck that hold the large front swivel casters wouldn't pass under the engine hanging below the frame.

Is this inconvenience happening on other models, such as the 4115?

Isn't that supposed to be the drive over deck? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nope. Only the 62D is a drive-over, and that won't be available until Spring.

According to the dealer, I'm supposed to remove the front, left caster and arm and pull the three-legged animal out that way unless I like lifting the tractor tires with the loader.

He says this is the case with all tractors and the 72" deck. Seems sort of silly to me, but not all engineers are created equal.

So now I have the dealer trying to figure out how to trade my brand-new 72"MMM for a 62D On-Ramp MMM in time for spring.

That was my impression when I looked at the 2520, which I was scheduled to purchase a week ago, the deck was an issue, because I'm not always going to have the loader on or have direct access to some lift mechanism for the front end. My cutting needs for the tractor are small, and I would rather have the 72" deck over the 62D for just cutting width purposes. I have not used the backhoe on that unit, but have on others equipped with the 46 and have the same impression as you mentioned, using both controls at the same time and reach limitations, so I'm presently looking some other options.

I drove a 2520 last Saturday at my dealer with a 62D. I don't know why you were told they wouldn't be out until spring?

I have a similar problem with the 72"mmm on my little 445.
Don't know how much a 2520 weighs, but I use a auto jack to lift up the front. Lets me pull the mower out without taking off any of the wheels.
