7265 cooling issues please help!

I have a 2000 7265 w/ 3cyl diesel mitsubishi.
mice got into the exhaust over the winter and filled it with corn we took the manifold off and corn come out and was in the head ports we removed the head fearing in got in through the valves and very little corn was found..(2-3
small pieces.. i might state it was never (started)run with corn in it at all, we saw it before we had a chance to start it...
ordered factory parts, put it together, filled the coolant,
started it, ran perfect,5 min after running started blowing coolant out the top of the removed cap (alot) like an airpocket..
shut it off, cooled down, restart and same thing!!!
if you put the cap on when it is running it wants to push it out the overflow (understandable)...
the head gasket will only fit one way so that cant be it.
so i changed the t-stat and still the same results..
the problem is it instantly starts to overheat when running only a few minutes. is there a bleeder valve you have to remove to get the air out when doing a coolant flush? i am an auto mechanic not a tractor mechanic..
but i understand fully the working of a cooling system..
what could it possibly be besides a restriction? but from where? i can only assume air pocket.. any ideas??

There might be a block drain plg on the right side around the oil filter. Loosen that a tad and let it flow. That should clear the air. My 7205 has that setup... not sure about the 65.

Is there a chance you put the thermostat in backwards?

The fact that coolant is being blown out of the filler definitely sound like a head gasket problem. Possibly the wrong gasket (some of the holes don't line up correctly), installed in wrong position (although you say it only fits one way), warped head, or torqued wrong. I'm not sure if any sealant is recommended on the gasket.
Perhaps the 5 minutes is the time it took for the thermostat to open and release the combustion pressure to the radiator, or perhaps the gasket blew after 5 minutes.

Certainly sounds like a head gasket. Are you sure that you torqued the head bolts in the correct order and in steps to the correct torque specification. Just asking to make sure you know the process for tightening the head.
