I am currently 1/3 owner of a business that owns a CC 7275 w/ 417 FEL with about 350 hrs. on a new block, 75 hrs. on rebuilt pump, and newly rebuilt starter, that is the 2nd starter we have rebuilt in the last year. We have also replaced the ignition switch 3 times. We have decided that we no longer need this tractor for our business. I however need a tractor for food plots, around the house projects, and misc. projects at the woods property. When we purchased the tractor from a local bank we also got a 16' trailer, 5' bushhog squealer, & 5' Cub finish mower. All of these items spent a good deal of time outside. Needless to say we bought this whole package at a pretty good price. My question is this for those of you who have experience with the 7275's. Do I try to purchase this as a package deal knowing all of the problems that the tractor has had or do you think I would be better off starting over. I think I can get the whole package for probably around $7 to $8K. Any input and/or comments are welcome, thanks!

I think you should buy it. Of course, I'm a bit prejudiced. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Go through Cubhater's thread on the breaking engine blocks and you'll get more insight as to why it had a broken block when you got it.
I'm finding that the lower mounting holes on Lucy's 417 loader are elongating, but that's going to be another subject. Your starter and ignition switch replacements may stem from bad ground connections. They're finicky, and there is a fix that I haven't really looked into, yet.
Does it haul easily on the trailer? Is the trailer factory built?
Do you presently have another tractor that you use?

First of all thanks for the reply.

The tractor does haul pretty easily on the trailer, I can haul the 7275 w/FEL and the 60" bushhog with no problem at all. The mower hangs off the back a foot or so but pulls real good. I need to make a better set of ramps for it, replace the jack stand, and repaint it if I decide to buy it.
I don't have another tractor but my brother-in-law farms and has told me I could borrow his anytime I needed to, but I just wouldn't feel right doing that all the time.

I have the same tractor. Starters or should I say solenoids are a problem with these tractors from what I have seen. The ignition switch has a wait on it before the starter engages when cold. So if that's your problem it does not need to be fixed. I paid $9200.00 for mine with 2300 hours on it delivered from Northern VT. I have the same loader, a Woods 72" mid mower deck, heated cab and a 6' KK rear grader blade for mine. That price with a trailer is a steal. Buy it is all I can say. You'll love it more than you think once you get the bugs out of it. I have pulled my Cub with my Chevy S-10 using a U-Haul 12' trailer which weights a ton to start with. My little Blazer towed that tractor with no problem.
