I spent about two hours adjusting and leveling that deck last night. When it first came home you could not flip the cams to release the deck unless there was a 2x4 under the front when you lowered it. I was going to send it back to the dealer because they are picking it up to fix the FEL mounts today anyhow. I couldn't let that deck beat me like that so I got it all adjusted properly to connect and disconnect and leveled front to back and side to side. It goes on and off like butter now. I already can't wait to get my tractor back so I can mow some more with it. It feels good to figure something out. I sure could have used an extra hand wrestling that thing around.

I think many dealers don't take the time to level the deck the way many of us like. My 72" 7 Iron mmm was way off level also when delivered about 3 yrs ago. Bought one of those John Deere deck leveling tools and got it perfectly level and it's been rock solid ever since. When uninstalling the deck, I put a long rod thru the yokes (front and rear) to keep the yokes in place while stored. The drive-over deck must be an awesome step up for install/uninstall. Good luck with your new equipment.

I wish I would have known there is a tool for the leveling. I'll have to find me one of those. Now that everything is adjusted good it is unbelieveable how easy this thing comes on and off. I can't wait to get it out and use it.

I had a similar problem with my 72D when I got it. The manual had good info for adjusting it, and its been great ever since. What was wrong with your fel mounts, My first set were clocked wrong and the 300cx would not go on straight. The FEL sat about 4 inches off center. It took a while to figure that one out, but I got new mounts and it's good to go now...

There is a rod offset on top of the mount and it should be installed with it forward. If you switch the left and right side it will be aft and it doesn't work so well like that. There is a post from yesterday or the day before about FEL mounts. I posted a few pictures in there of mine.

Most dealers have it in stock for about $8 or so: John Deere Mower Deck Leveling Gauge
