Just to see how it works, I removed my loader (mistake). When putting it back on I can't get the hooks corectly seated on the posts, see attached. The camera angle is exaggerating the situation but it's no where near it needs to be. I'm hoping something is just out of adjustment. Also notice the orange I.D. tag, or at least that's what I think it is. Anyone remove these?

pc, the wire tie probably was from shipping and when i took delivery of my loader i had to adjust the hooks . you want them up against the pins. make sure the loader is seated in the rear mount before adjusting the hooks. they call 'em quick attach loaders, what a joke! i leave mine on most all the time......tgello

I would add one comment to tgello's remarks. Once you have the loader firmly seated in the rear mounts, make sure that the loader is not 'racked' from right to left before you adjust those front hooks. It looks like your hooks are set in the farthest forward position of their range. You should have to set them up only once. I have found my loader easy to take on and off, though not as easy as a John Deere.

Paul, I just took my loader off for the first time yesterday. Came off quite easily; I would think reattaching it wouldn't be to difficult, just reverse the removal process. When I bought my tractor they told me to be sure and have the bucket up against something solid, like a tree, so the loader wouldn't slide forward when reattaching. The hooks are adjustable, they aren't loose are they? Also, might try moving lift arms up or down while slowly driving forward. Let us hear if you solve the problem.

Putting the bucket in the dumped position avoids the need to be against anything. This is also the way your operators manual suggest that it be taken off.

Spencer, there must be more than one version of the operators manual. No where in mine can I find that it says to have the bucket in the dumped position. Makes sense though, as the edge of the bucket would dig in, preventing it from sliding forward, as long as you were on dirt. If I ever take mine off for a long period of time, it'll be in my Morton building; I'll probably have to figure out some way to keep it from sliding on the concrete floor, I'd imagine. Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

2thdoc, my manual does not say to put the bucket in the dumped position either. But, I can see that doing so would decrease the angle required on the loader arms to clear the tires. This decreased angle should make it easier to slide the arms up on the front mounting pins. I'm going to give it a try this weekend to see for myself.

I reattached my loader over the past weekend. It didn't go back on quite as easily as it came off; the SS made it kind of tricky, ie., turn left, tractor moves right. Had to play with the lift arms and bucket curl some, but it eventually slid into place. Glad I had it up against a tree though, otherwise I think I might have ended up pushing it across the back yard. It might have stayed put with the bucket in the dump position, but I imagine it would have gouged a pretty good rut, especially as wet as the ground has been here lately.

I looked at mine again last night. The hooks are slotted, but all the adjustment is currently being used. While looking at everything I started to wonder if the part of the loader that the hooks accept is on backwards. Reversing it would move the posts forward but that might be too much. Does anyone know if their posts are toward the front or back? Thanks.

Paul, I bet if you try moving the lift arms so they move more horizontal, your FEL will slide into place. At one point when I was putting mine on the hooks looked a lot like yours do in the picture; I played with moving the arms up and down, using the hydraulics, and was able to drive the tractor forward and the loader went right on.
