7360 Hydro filter help

Anyone figure out how to save a few bucks on the Cub Cadet/Mitsu hydro filter and cross reference it through another store? The dealer wants $85 for it and unfortunately Napa couldn't find it, even using the Cub part number (MA1031251800). He even looked under Cub tractors and the only one he had a record of was the 7275. Surely this filter can be had elsewhere for a little less $$!

Try another Cub dealer. I only paid $38 for the hydraulic filter on my 7260.

Yea, $85 is what I had to pay also. I think the smaller Cubs have a smaller filter and that's why it was cheaper. Several people have tried to cross reference to a WIX number without any success. GSS, I have a 7234 Cub and here is info from an earlier post of mine:

"I ended up getting the Hyd. filter from Whites Farm Supply in NY along with some other stuff. I actually just got it last week. The HYD Filter, MA 19642509000 was $42.79. The oil filter they talked me into was a Fleetguard is to big and is going back. I ended up with a NAPA Gold locally for $6-7. Fuel filter was not a Cub brand, ran $5.33. You can go to the Wix filter site and they have a pretty good cross reference if you have the original numbers."

My local NAPA store, real small in Bath, ME punched the Hyd. Filter number in and came up with a NAPA match but was more expensive, about $60 if I remember. Your filters, bigger engine, may be more expensive. They sure aren't cheap. The WIX site was a lot of help with my research.

No cross for Wix.

If you have a master catalog, you can probably find one.

Little longer, shorter, etc.

You will have to match dimensions, thread sizes, gasgets, types.

As I've said in a previous post on this subject, I am not willing to risk my tractor by finding a replacement filter based on dimensions, thread sizes, and gasgets. Specs like filtration size and bypass pressure are more important. Unfortunately for us, Mitsubishi (nor Cub) are willing to share that information. The cost of damage repair far outweighs the savings in a lifetime of filter savings. at least that's my view.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I saw the earlier posts, but wasn't sure if anyone had discovered anything since. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet. I've only been putting like 50 hours a year on it so far anyway, so I guess $85 per 4 years isn't too bad.

I log over 200hrs on each tractor each year and I look for other filters but without any luck. In Aug I bought all filters for both and I paid 105.00 for the 7360 hyd filter. But you only change them every 200 hrs. The air filter is the one that gets me. 75.00 for each and replace every 100 hrs. I know I can pass the charge along to my customers but when I look back at the Kubota air filters that are just like the Cubs except for the outward flange and are 21.00 compaired to 75.00 I feel like I am getting slammed. If I could just find a source for the air filters I would be a happy camper. I am sure Mits does not make the filter. If anyone knows a source please let me know.

I know. I think I paid around $68 for my last air filter. I am lucky to put 30 hours a year on mine and am not willing to screw it up just to save a couple of bucks. I figure it came with Mitsubishi parts and I am going to replace them with Mitsubishi parts. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
