Good afternoon!
Have a Ford model 1920 with a 1708 loader. Can this unit pick up round bales? Also, have tech questions if someone has experience or knowlage with this tractor. Thanks. Have a blessed day!!!

Welcome to the forum. I am sure it could pick up a bale but there is alot a variables.

Assuming your tires are liquid filled to ballast the FIL and your using a spear attachment. You should have no problem with round bales. Or are you using a three point hitch spear.

Good Morning All!
I bought this tractor used and it just needs some TLC. But, I did try a bucket spike and it tried to lift them. However, I'm thinking if I used a regular attachment in place of the bucket (thus moving the CG toward the tractor) I would have better luck. This leads to the next item of discussion....the hydraulics bleed down. Both the loader and the 3-point. I'm going to assume that the majority of that is connections (QD's) and o-rings. I have a 3-point hay spear and it works great. I used my mower as ballast till I had the first few bales on the ground. The tractor itself handled everything well. Just hydraulic issues. Before I bought the tractor I asked the wife if we were going to feed round bales and the answer was "we shouldn't need to".........That'll teach me.......
