750 warning light question

Just purchased today, a John Deere 750, haven't had time to get an owners manual, my question is, when you turn the ignition switch on are all 3 warning lights supposed to come on, the oil and amp light come on but not the temp, I think i got a good deal on the tractor, cranks and runs exc, has a Deere loader and came with a good boxblade, gave 4k for all, 2546 hours, operates very good, power steering, the hood is a little ruff but nothing that cannot be corrected, any help with the lights appreciated, don't want to run it hot.

Check out this thread just below that was started yesterday. It was for a JD 755, but I'm pretty sure that as far as the indicator lights go, both tractors function identical.

That thread and the info I posted was for a 750 as stated, not a 755.

Checking my tractor, the temp light and oil light are not coming on, I can ground the end of the leads at sending units and both lights will operate, does that mean that the sending units are bad.

Yes on the oil sender being bad. The temp light goes through a relay that activates the light when on START to test it. So that could be the relay.

Thanks for the info, will round these up tomorrow, are these parts available from an auto supply or do you have to go to the Green store.

Thanks for the info, looked at it yesterday and looks like the water temp is working correctly, the light comes on when the key is in the crank position, oil light not coming on at all , have one ordered from the John Deere place. I'll be glad when my manual gets here, just bought this tractor and it appears to be in really good shape, I gave 4k for it with a J/D loader and heavy duty J-Bar box blade, had to replace the seat and the hood had some bad rust right at the bottom close to the battery, fixed all that and repainted the hood and dash and it looks good, cranks just as soon as you touch the starter, will have about 4300.00 in it when I get evrything corrected. It has 2456 hours on it.
