I started looking at the BX2200, then the 7400 and after help and reading I won't settle for less than the 7500. I have read many of your posts and wonder if I can justify paying more and get the 2410. My questions are, what is position control you talk about? Does 3 horsepower more make that much of a difference? Is the 2410 any bigger than the 7500? Are there any other features I am missing that make the 2410 about $2500 more? I do understand the FEL will hold about 100 pounds more, what have I missed? THANKS for your help, I'm getting close.

The B7500 has a joystick for the 3PH with three positions: 1=lower/float, 2=hold, 3=raise. The B2x10 have postition control with graduated markings for position. Put the lever in the "position" you want. It holds there.

That depends. Doesn't sound like a lot, but on a percentage basis, it's about 15% more.

A little bit wider, taller and longer. Check the specs for the exact amounts.

Well, because the 2410 is bigger, it also weighs more than the 7500. I guess the way to think about it is the same as the 15% power issue. Probably about 15% more tractor? Hmmm. $2500 is about 21% more price./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

4WheelRider,

This topic has been flogged pretty well on this forum - check the archives if you haven't already.

I'll add a few items to Glueguy's very good summary: Loader lift capacity is between 16% and 22% higher for the B2410 (depending on center of bucket or pivot point). Three-point hitch lift capacity is 22% higher on the B2410. According to the manufacturer's specs, the B2410 is rated to handle a little larger tiller and finish mower. The seat on the B2410 is a little nicer, and the fenders are metal (v. plastic on the B7500). The mid- and rear-PTO are independent on the B2410, but not on the B7500 (I think).

One item in the B7500's favor is hydraulic capacity - identical on the two machines.

Hope this helps.

Wheeldog,

plastic on the B7500 My wife assures me her tractor does not have plastic fenders. Also the rear pto runs all by itself, and the rear runs when the mid does./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Can't comment on the PTO, but do know for certainty that the 7500 that I sat on a few weeks ago had a substantial amount of plastic on the fenders!! Going to the B2x10 series gets rid of that.

Kevin,

You don't suppose my wife talked that dealer into some special metal fenders do ya?

The lever guide and marking plates on the fenders are plactic but I think thats pretty common across the B series, if thats substantial OK.

I think that going to the B2x10 series get's you more fender./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

hey,
if you have the cash get the b2410. the b7500 in my opinion isnt much diff. than the bx2200 which im getting a new one next week. the b7500 has a little more hydrualic capacity than the bx and the tires are bigger but the b2410 has more hp and position control. i was like you kinda, i started out looking at the bx then the b7500 and even had thoughts of riding the b2410 thinkin the b7500 might not be big enuff, but HEY im not gonna be making my living with this thing and i have only 1+ acre. i will find some small side work though. anyway if you can afford it get the b2410 cause i dont think size will be a factor as far as manuevering. i have some steep mowing and knew any bigger than the bx would be too cumbersome.

Al,

plastic on the B7500

My apologies to your wife and her B7500. Nothing like having the real article in your garage or barn to verify these sort of things/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Al,

Should have been clearer! My apologies. The plastic (as I recall....and I can't look in my garage like you /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif)was a plate on top of the metal fenders that surrounded the lever controls. On the B2x10 series this plastic plate is metal. Certainly not a huge deal either way I wouldn't think.
