I am helping a friend with his 200 hr standard maintenance--he's doing it himself for the first time. I have worked on plenty of auto's, but this is my first tractor (Mahindra 7520 4WD).

Everything has gone smoothly, I am just having a little difficulty locating a couple things--which I am sure will turn out to be right under (or over) my nose!

Is this a picture of a Mahindra Engine Main Drive Pulley Bearing & grease fitting? Which from the looks of it (and the manual), I should find on the left side or left bottom of the 7520, right?

And, there is an IPTO Front Chassis grease fitting that needs to be lubed, is this under the tranny case behind a protective shield that runs nearly the length of the tractor?

Last, there are two zerks on a power steering cylinder rod end directly under the engine, how often these need to be greased? (Are all grease points done every scheduled maintenance?)

TIA.

I grease all fittings every 10 hours, I think that some might be a bit dry if they were only greased every 50 hours as the manual suggests.

Of course your operating conditions may vary.

Thanks to SPYDERLK for some help via PM (before I had posting privileges on the forum). Indeed the picture is the Engine Main Drive Pulley Bearing & grease fitting. Anybody know what the set screw plug is on the bottom of the bearing housing?

And, as far as the IPTO Front Chassis grease fitting that I could not find, if we had a front IPTO then there might be a fitting! :D

MtnViewRanch: a shorter interval makes good sense. We're going to watch all our fluids, etc on a weekly basis and more frequently when doing more demanding work (e.g. PTO spading and the like) to get a sense of what's really going on with the oils, coolant and grease.

Thanks again for the help. Anybody do their own front wheel bearing repacks?

The 7520 4WD front wheel bearings get lubricated with 80/90 weight gear oil. So no packing is necessary. Good luck and enjoy that tractor.

Galen:
Do you know what the set screw plug on the bottom of the bearing housing (pictured above, just south of the grease fitting) is for?

Peter,
I don't know what that set screw or plug is for. Wish I could help.

I would guess it is an alternate port for the grease fitting. One way to find out, back the set screw out and see if there is grease behind it. But if you do, put the set screw back in with lock tite on the treads.;)
