Why does hydraulic fluid get forced out of the vent of the steering fluid reservoir on a fairly regular basis?

Either you have to much fluid in the tank, or you have an air leak of some kind, so that the fluid is getting aerated. :confused3: Mine has never done this that I know of. ;)

It is possible for the power steering to exchange fluid with the hydraulic transmission fluid and overflow the PS tank. If that is happening the seals will need to be replaced between the pumps.

Have you overfilled the reservior? The fluid gets warm and expands and can over flow through the vent.
